Parent Meeting / Season Update

SPYBB club thanks you for registering your child(ren) for the upcoming 21/22 season.  We are excited to have more of a normal season this year and hope your kids are excited to learn, practice and play some great basketball.  Below are some details and information you should be aware of:

  • Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 24th, this is a mandatory meeting.  This is mandatory as kids will be meeting their coaches and trying on uniforms & shooting shirts so we can get them ordered before the first games. If you cannot attend, the sizes entered upon registration will be used.  This is important because the boys jerseys tend to run small while the shorts run larger.  The shooting shirts also tend to run a little small.  Lastly, we ordered new girl's jerseys for this season so need everyone to try them on to ensure the correct size is given.

Coaches Meeting starts at 6:00. Anyone that has signed up to coach (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Parent Helper) upon registration should attend.

Parent & Player Meeting will start at 7:00. Please arrive early to start trying on jerseys to limit the wait times.

Location is TBD, we will communicate once confirmed.

  • Payment for season – Payments must be received prior to the season starting; no payment, no uniform. If you haven’t paid yet, please make check out to SPYBB.

  • Practices will begin around November 1st.  Coaches will communicate schedules once they are set.

  • Home Tournaments – We have been approved by the Badger Development League (BDL) to host 2 tournaments, please mark your calendars for these dates:
    • Girls (December 4-5th) and Boys (January 15-16th)
    • All families will be required to volunteer at these events, so please mark your calendars now.
    • These tournaments bring in $1,000’s of dollars to our program to help keep our registration cost down, provide new uniforms and give each 7th grader their own Rock basketball to use the rest of their basketball career

  • IMPORTANT!!!  We need Volunteers for 3 open board positions!  Vote for these positions will happen at the parent meeting on October 24th so please let us know if you are interested in any of these positions by October 17th.  Each are a two-year term that begins April 1, 2022.  You will learn on the job with the current board member for this season to ensure a seamless transition. It’s important we have dedicated folks to ensure SPYBB continues to run smoothly and provides the SP community a great basketball program for our kids.  Open positions:
    • President
    • Director of Coaching/Player Development
    • Equipment Coordinator

Please respond to this email if you are interested or have questions about any of these positions.

We look forward to a GREAT 2021/2022 basketball season!
